Investa achieves Green Star Rating trifecta

Investa Property Group (Investa) has just been awarded a trifecta of Green Star ratings from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). The buildings include:

1. Ark, North Sydney NSW

Ark has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star Rating which represents “World Leadership” in environmentally sustainable design.

2. Trenerry on Studley Park, Abbotsford VIC

Trenerry on Studley Park has been awarded a 4 Star Green Star Rating which represents “Best Practice” in environmentally sustainable design.

3. Botanicca S7, Richmond VIC

Botanicca S7 has been awarded a 4 Star Green Star Rating which represents “Best Practice” in environmentally sustainable design.

Romilly Madew, Chief Executive of the Green Building Council of Australia said "Investa has a long history at the forefront of environmentally responsible development and operation of commercial buildings. The commitment of companies such as Investa to sustainability demonstrates that, despite the economic downturn, green building is no longer a niche market, a trend or a luxury. Instead, leading developers are recognising that green building is
a business imperative."

Ark, 40 Mount Street, North Sydney NSW

Ark has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 Certified Rating, which represents “World Leadership” in environmentally sustainable design.

Genia McCaffery, Mayor of North Sydney Council said “Ark will be a great asset to North Sydney. The building sets a new benchmark in sustainable development that helps confirm North Sydney as the green CBD. Council has worked closely with Investa on this development and we are confident that Ark will be a landmark building that will anchor the CBD and attract quality tenants.”

Tina Tang, Group General Manager of Commercial Office Developments at Investa said “Ark has been designed from the outset to be one of Australia’s most recognisable and sustainable office buildings and is the first office development in North Sydney to be awarded a 6 Star Green Star Rating.”

Ark comprises 28,500m2 NLA of A-grade office space over 21 floors and is currently under construction, due for completion in Q2 2010. Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) have agreed to occupy 10,480m2 in Ark on a 10 lease year term and will move from the company’s current headquarters in Macquarie Street, Sydney to Ark upon completion.

Ark’s green features include:
- a greywater recycling system,
- a tri-generation plant,
- efficient lighting and controls,
- parking and charging bays for electric and hybrid pool cars,
- cycling facilities (including bike racks, lockers and showers),
- a 3D Building Information Model (BIM) which combines all of the design as-built information about the architecture, services and fit outs in the building. This allows for both efficient construction and operation, and is leading technology in the industry.

Trenerry on Studley Park, 436 Johnson Street, Abbotsford VIC

Trenerry on Studley Park has been awarded a 4 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 Certified Rating, which represents “Best Practice” in environmentally sustainable design.

Trenerry on Studley Park comprises approximately 9,200m2 NLA of A grade office space over 4 floors and was completed Q1 2009.

Trenerry’s green features include:
- high performance double glazed windows,
- cycling facilities (including bike racks, lockers and showers),
- efficient lighting and controls,
- low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) carpets,
- water efficient fixtures,
- infrared daylight sensing technology.

Botanicca S7, 572-576 Swan Street, Richmond VIC

Botanicca S7 has been awarded a 4 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 Certified Rating, which represents “Best Practice” in environmentally sustainable design.

Botanicca S7 is located within the Botanicca Corporate Park and comprises 6,400m2 NLA of A grade office space over 4 floors and was completed Q1 2009.

Botanicca S7’s green features include:
- high performance double glazed windows,
- cycling facilities (including bike racks, lockers and showers),
- efficient lighting and controls,
- low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) carpets,
- water efficient fixtures,
- infrared daylight sensing technology.
